Sam Hickey enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2009. Upon completing boot camp at MCRD San Diego and MCT at Camp Pendleton, he attended his first MOS school as a 3531 Motor Transportation Operator in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 with 2nd Battalion 8th Marines to support Operation Enduring Freedom. Sam re-enlisted and conducted a lateral move to become an 0211 Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence Specialist. While serving with 2nd Intelligence Battalion, he deployed to Sicily, Burundi, Senegal, and Norway to support various intelligence operations. Sam separated in 2017 to attend the University of Denver. He graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2020 and his Master’s Degree in Business Analytics in 2021.
