Join Us for the 2025 Veterans Day Ceremony at USMC Memorial

Join us at the United States Marine Corps Memorial in Golden for a powerful Veterans Day ceremony honoring Marines and all who have served our nation. This year’s event features guest speaker Jesse “Voodoo” Clay, USN (Ret.), a Navy SEAL and four-time world heavyweight Kumite champion whose story of discipline and service inspires all who hear it.

Experience a morning of remembrance and gratitude as we:

  • Present the Colors with Recruiting Station Denver

  • Hear the haunting beauty of “Going Home” performed on bagpipes

  • Witness a breathtaking flyover by the Rocky Mountain Renegades

  • Reflect during Taps, Amazing Grace, and a dove release honoring the fallen

The Memorial was dedicated in 1977 by U.S. Marine Corps Commandant Louis H. Wilson Jr. to honor Marines of all eras who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. It stands today as Golden’s first Community Landmark, a living testament to courage, service, and love of country.

We invite you to visit the Memorial website to view the envisioned remodel and support the “Buy a Brick” program to memorialize your service or that of a loved one. Matching funds are available for all bricks purchased through November 1, 2025.

Be part of this day of honor.
Come early, bring your family, and help us celebrate those who stood ready to defend liberty.

Formal ceremony starts at 2 PM.

Address: 16899 W Colfax Ave, Golden, CO 80401

SPONSORS

HMC1 (Ret.) Jesse “Voodoo” Clay, USN

Jesse “Voodoo” Clay is a native of New York state, where he excelled in sports and martial arts from a young age. His martial arts training extended well beyond the United States, with the majority of his instruction taking place in Japan. His dedication and skill earned him multiple accolades, including being a four-time World Heavyweight Kumite Champion, a former member of the U.S.A. Karate National Team, and an inductee into both the World and U.S. Martial Arts Halls of Fame.

Jesse is the founder and master instructor of CMAD, a combative training system he designed for Naval Special Warfare. CMAD has also been adopted by law enforcement agencies across the country.

After graduating from college, Jesse joined the United States Navy, completing corpsman training at Balboa Navy Hospital in San Diego. He was then stationed at Parris Island, South Carolina, serving as a corpsman for the U.S. Marine Corps Fleet Marine Force. His time with the Marines inspired him to pursue training as a U.S. Navy SEAL.

Jesse’s martial arts and disciplined background translated naturally to BUD/S training, where he successfully completed Class 126 and was assigned to SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) Team 2. During his Navy career, Jesse served in both the Middle East and South America in various capacities.

Throughout his service, Jesse has remained deeply connected to the Brotherhood forged in the Teams — a lifelong bond grounded in courage, service, and honor.

Schedule

New Marines sworn in at 1:45. Formal ceremony starts at 2 pm.
